NOTICE OF PRIVACY POLICY FOR D & H MOTORS

This notice will explain to you our Privacy Policy which ensures that your private information is kept private and only shared with those companies who are authorized either by yourself or as allowed or required   by law.  We may reserve the right to share your information with non-affiliated third parties.  However, you have the right to “opt-out” of our reservation to do so.

 INFORMATION WHICH WE COLLECT FROM YOU

In the course of purchasing or leasing a motor vehicle, it is necessary to gather nonpublic personal information from you, our customer. If is necessary to extend credit to you when you purchase or lease a vehicle, we will gather information from you to determine your credit note worthiness.  We may also need to obtain information form a credit-reporting agency or third parties such as employers, insurance companies and references.  Law from agencies such as the Department of Motor Vehicles or the Internal Revenue Service may require some information.  Even if the purchase were a cash transaction, it still may be necessary to collect your social security or driver’s license number.

 HOW WE PROTECT YOUR NONPUBLIC INFORMATION

We have established standards and procedures, which protect your nonpublic personal information.  We have established and maintain physical and electronic safeguards that comply with both state and federal law.  We limit access to nonpublic personal information about you to only those employees and outside contractors who need to know the information to provide a product or service to you.  We prohibit our employees and agents from giving or sharing any information about you to anyone in a manner, which would violate our stated Privacy Policy or any state or federal law.

 

WHEN WE MAY SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH OTHERS

We disclose and share nonpublic personal information with non-affiliated third parties under the following conditions:

  1. When it is permitted by federal or state law;

  2. When it is necessary for processing a transaction for the sale or lease of a vehicle which you have requested or authorized, such as submitting information to a third party financial institution that may be requested to take an assignment of the contract or needs to verify insurance coverage information;

  3. When using service providers to assist us in providing you with products and services.  We enter into privacy protection agreements with our service providers prohibiting them from disclosing or sharing the information other than for the purpose for which it was disclosed before providing your nonpublic personal information to them;

  4.  When an “Affiliated Company” is involved.  Affiliated companies include any companies that own or control us, any company that we own or control, or any company that is owned or controlled in common with us;

  5.  When you have indicated, by signing a copy of this form at time of purchase, that you agree to our reservation to share you  nonpublic personal information with non-affiliated companies.

 

SHARING OF INFORMATION WITH NON-AFFILIATED THIRD PARTIES

It is the policy of D & H Motors to not share nonpublic information with non-affiliated third parties.  We only share information with lending companies in order to obtain credit in your behalf or in the event of loan default.
